We recycled 2ltr plastic bottles into mini greenhouses, planted them with a variety of different seeds, from coriander, lettuce to green beans and butternut squash.
How to Make a Mini Greenhouse
1. With a sharp knife or pair of scissors, cut a small slit in the bottle about 4 inches from the bottom. Using a pair of scissors, cut around the circumference of the bottle to remove the bottom.
2. Fill the bottom part of the bottle with compost, add your seeds and water lightly.
3. Put the top half of the bottle onto the bottom half and sellotape together, label your bottle and place on a sunny windowsill.
4. As the plants heat up, moisture will collect on the inside the greenhouse and return to the plant when temperatures drop. Removing the cap from the bottle prevents the plants from over heating and allows for the exchange of fresh air.
