Fundraising for plants and flowers:
Thank you for helping to bake cakes for the cake sale:
The ingredients enclosed should make about x24 cup cakes or two 7" sponge cakes.
Ingredients
300g/12oz Self Raising Flour
300g/12oz Soft Margarine
300g/12oz Caster Sugar
2 eggs
4 tbsp milk
How to make Fairy Cakes:
Preheat the oven to 190C/35F/Gas mark 5.
- Place the paper cases in the holes of your cake tins
- In a mixing bowl beat the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. You can use an electric whisk or a wooden spoon.
- Beat the eggs together and add then to the butter/sugar mixture, a little at a time.
- You can add lemon juice, vanilla essence, cocoa powder, etc etc etc at this point if you want to:
- Sift in half of the flour and fold into the mixture.
- Add the milk and the rest of the flour and fold until well combined.
- Spoon into the tin and bake for 12 minutes or until risen and golden on top.
- Allow to cool for ten minutes on a rack before removing from the tin.
