Achievements

THIS TERM: upto February 2011
Recyling:

We are working towards recycling paper as a whole school. Every class room will have a clearly marked box for, “PAPER ONLY” and a bin with a black sack for any other waste.
  • Tutors need to take the lead by decorating the box “PAPER ONLY”
  • It will be up to each tutor to decide how you will organise who will empty the box. (perhaps a different pair of students each week, so that everyone gets used to being involved and taking ownership.)
  • MUST CHECK THAT ONLY PAPER GOES INTO THE BOX, NO GLUE, STAPLES, SELOTAPE etc.
.
Every tutor group will have their own “Recycling pass” which the students will take with them when recycling, giving them permission to be out of morning tutor time to recycle.  This activity should be done regularly and take no longer than 5/10 minutes.

Biodiversity:

We will be planting out x30 shrubs at the beginning of March, it is a suggestion that we might ask students/staff to sponsor a shrub for £1 to raise funds.
We will be holding a cake sale on the 11th February to also raise funds to buy plants and flowers that will be planted around the school, providing not only a splash of colour, opportunities for students to get involved but important areas will attract natural wildlife.

If you are a gardener, and are thinking about splitting any of your plants then could you save us a piece!  If you have any spare gardening tools that you would like to donate, then they will be welcome.

Notice Board:

We now have a notice board in the canteen where will keep the whole school updated on forthcoming events and will publicise what we are doing.
